Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEERS CAN AND DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Volunteers

We enjoy having visitors and volunteers in our schools and invite parents to be actively involved in our classrooms. The Riverview School District depends on volunteers and values their contributions. We care about the safety of staff and children, so all prospective volunteers must apply and be approved before they can begin volunteering in Riverview.

Application Process and Instructions

All volunteers are required to complete the online application which includes a disclosure statement, review of policies and procedures, and submission of picture identification. This information is used to perform a background check through Washington State Patrol. In addition, all volunteers are required to review the Volunteer Handbook prior to their first day of volunteering.

If you are unable to apply online, or need assistance in completing the online application, please contact Riverview School District at 425-844-4500 to make arrangements.

Approval Process

When volunteer applications have been processed, applicants receive an email confirmation upon approval. This process can take up to two weeks from the time the application is completed. Volunteer status is good for two academic years.

Volunteers Assisting a Coach

Some schools utilize the services of volunteers to assist the employed head coach or activity advisor in an authorized athletic/social program. If the coach or advisor determines a need for volunteers, and if you are interested in volunteering in this capacity, you must complete the online volunteer application for volunteer coach.

NOTE: Volunteer coaches must submit fingerprints.
